Cheap Green Earth Technologies 01109 G Oil 2-Cycle Engine Oil 16 oz

When I was researching mopeds in March and April of 2009, one of the things I was looking into was the type of oil they used. After reading about dozens of brands and types, I stumbled across a few comments about GET-G, and was immediately intrigued. I'm not an environmental activist, but I do try to "do my part" by minimizing my impact on the environment in various ways. Historically, mopeds have not been represented as being environmentally friendly, specifically because of the way they use oil (burned along with the gasoline and/or expelled with the exhaust), so when I read that this oil was manufactured from animal fats and was biodegradable, I decided to give it a fair try.

I've been using this oil in my moped for over a year, and have just passed 1000 miles. In that time, the piston has never seized, not even when I was running it at full throttle for up to ten minutes. There is no perceptible smell produced by the oil, either. The package says, "No Smoke". It does produce an almost imperceptible amount of smoke, but it's less than half of what you'd see from a person exhaling smoke from a cigarette. And spills are never an issue, this stuff cleans up with simple soap and water, and is biodegradable anyway.

There is one caveat, for which I detracted one star. If this oil gets cold, below freezing, it congeals and has to be warmed up again before it returns to a fluid state. That makes it slightly less viable for moped riders who want to keep a small bottle of oil with them for on-the-go fuel stops (which i do). But it doesn't separate from the gasoline in the tank, even when cold, so it's not a serious drawback, more a matter of expediency. Just remember to warm up your bottle beforehand, or keep it in a warm place, and you shouldn't have any problems.

Other than the congealment in cold weather, I've been quite pleased with this oil. I initially purchased a single quart from another place, to test it, and was satisfied enough to purchase six pints through Amazon. That will be enough to keep my moped running smoothly for at least another three years. When my on-hand supply runs out, I intend to go all the way and buy an entire case. If that doesn't convey my satisfaction well enough, I doubt anything else I could say would be sufficient.Get more detail about Green Earth Technologies 01109 G Oil 2-Cycle Engine Oil 16 oz.
